How Come No Comments?

Just curious why there have been no comments on my blog for quite a while. I guess people are just struck dumb by the profundity of my postings – kinda like my sermons!

Anyway, if you’d care to leave a comment, I just want to point out that you can do that by clicking on the “comment” icon just below the headline. C’mon, let me know there are real people out there reading this blog, not just netbots!

I often want to comment but find myself deleting much of what I wrote. I have learned to choose my battles over the past few years. My honesty has more often than not been my downfall. Hope you are doing well. Cute grandkid! Say hi to Johanna. I read your blog on apologies and I think if one wants forgiveness then one needs to confess what they have done. Confession is good for the soul so the pslamist tells us in psalm 32. I think after all Tiger is wanting forgiveness from his fans and sponsors or why did he bother apologizing at all.

  2. Hi Diane! Nice to hear from you! Yep I agree with you that of one wants forgiveness then one needs to confess. But the question I have is – confess to whom? I think Tiger certainly owed his apology (to say the least) to his wife and family. But did he really owe anything to his fans, or to the game of golf? I don’t think so.

Seems to me we make idols of celebrities, and then when they fall, we think they owe us an apology. If Tiger had cheated at golf, he’d owe an apology to the fans, not his wife. If he’d skipped out on his bar bill, he’d owe the barkeeper, not me.

In any case, I do feel for him, and hope he’ll find the healing he’s looking for. Even more I feel for his family.

Nice to hear from you. Comment away anytime!
