Whattya Do With Your Old Electronics?

If you’re thinking about a new computer, or monitor, or TV, the idea may have crossed your mind about recycling your old item. There are problems with just throwing electronics out, as things like monitors will leak toxic chemicals as they degrade. So if you’d like to safely recycle, here are a few websites to visit:

  1. A helpful article from ConsumerSearch on recycling electronics points out the possibilities and pitfalls; click here.
  2. Dell and Goodwill have teamed up to recycle electronics – you can drop items off at the Goodwill store in Carlyle Plaza. For more info, click here.
  3. Best Buy also accepts items for recycling (but not all); they charge $10 for monitors but give you a $10 store credit at the same time. For more info, click here.
