Free (the) Puritans!

Since I got my Nook e-reader, I’ve been looking for e-books to download. And they’re out there! There’s B&N of course and I suppose Borders. But hey, what if you want a classic book, something by one of those mean, dried up, anal, no-fun Puritans?

Well hey there’s hope for ya Puritan lovers! Check out the Puritan Library, where you can download tons of Puritan writings for FREE! Richard Sibbes, John Owen (that’s him on the left), John Bunyan, Jonathan Edwards etc. etc. In Kindle, e-pub or pdf formats! Did I mention they’re FREE?! You’ll need to give them time to download – Volume 1 of 7 in the Complete Works Of Richard Sibbes is 77MB, took a few minutes to download in pdf.

The language is in some cases so antiquated it’s just delightful – no McDonaldization of language here! I think we should have “Talk Like A Puritan Day”, kinda like “Talk Like A Pirate Day” but more pure(itan).

  1. I’m blogging through Sibbes’ works and modernising the language as I go. Loving it.
