2 Year Mission Partnership Begins Next Sunday!
At St. Paul’s we have what we call Two Year Mission Partnerships. For two years we team up with one of our long-time charitable organizations, in order to raise funds and to develop relationships. I’ve found over my 25 years of ministry that it’s one thing to send money to an organization; it’s something else to develop personal relationships – to get to know the people as people, to get to know their stories and how God has worked in their lives. I have a lot more to say about that, but that’s for later.
Last year we wrapped up our two year partnership with Kindercottage in East St. Louis. This year, our new mission partner is Hoyleton Youth And Family Services (better known around our place as Hoyleton Home – their website is here if you’d like to know more). We have several events planned for this coming year, but the first is this coming Sunday, when we hold the kickoff lunch after worship. Several Hoyleton folks will be with us, so this will be an opportunity for us to get to know and understand each other better.
