Zoom Zooming Along

I’ve driven a Miata for about 14 years now, and while the car has changed incrementally over the years, it’s always been a blast to drive. All that good Japanese engineering, good gas mileage, and just a blast to drive – grips the road like a slot car. Dang just talking about it makes me wanna go rip some twisties!

Anyway, here’s just another confirmation that this is not just a personal obsession. reviews the reviews of experts (Car & Driver, Consumer Reports, etc.) and in a post about fuel efficient convertibles delivering summer fun, has this to say:

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been around for more than two decades, and for good reason: the current model is one of the best-reviewed convertibles overall and carries on the alluring mixture of delivering great fuel economy and sporty driving.  The appeal of the MX-5 Miata doesn’t stop at its low base price (it starts at $23,110) or the impressive-for-a-sporty-car 24 mpg in combined driving. Interior quality is a cut above its competition and its reliability record is beyond reproach. Convertible shoppers needn’t spend a lot to get an efficient, overwhelmingly well-reviewed convertible that’s a ton of fun to drive.

Just FYI, we have 5 Miatae at St. Paul’s – Mike L., Donna A., Marge G, Troy M, and my Red.
