From The Pastor At St. Paul's UCC, Freeburg, IL

St. Paul Trip To Harrisburg, IL

Harrisburg is a small town a couple of hours southeast of Freeburg. It got hit by a tornado last week, and there have been lots of responses to help from our denomination (UCC) and others. I was really amazed, though at the response of our church. Jim Kaiser spoke last Sunday, saying that he would be taking our bus to Harrisburg and that we needed supplies, totes, etc. to take to the victims there. We could also use cash donations. Within 8 hours (by that evening in other words) we had a bus-full of supplies, and over $3,000 in donations! It just came pouring in. I was truly impressed by the immediate outpouring!

Jim did drive to Harrisburg on Monday morning and came back that evening. He has LOTS of stories to tell – some sad, some amazing, some uplifting. We’ll be hearing more in the days to come, bur for now I wanted you to know about this, and to say that if you’d like to see some pictures from Jim’s trip, you can find them on this facebook page.
